I Am Seven Years Sober (tomorrow)! And to Celebrate...I have a Gift For You!
I decided to share my audiobook Sober Yoga Girl for free!
I decided to share my audiobook Sober Yoga Girl for free as a podcast for the month of April!
This book took me five years, three editors, and was so incredibly difficult, but rewarding, to write. In writing my story, I made sense of my life. In publishing, I had to make amends with a few characters in the story (most importantly the person I married when I was 25) It was one of the most meaningful parts of my early sobriety. And now I want to share it with more people.
After I published it in September 2024, I spent three full days in a recording studio creating the audiobook.
But… I missed one file.
And because of that, the project was rejected from audiobook platforms.
I told myself I’d go back and fix it but a lot happened since then…
Directly after publishing the book in late 2024 - early 2025 I did six months straight of international travel teaching at retreats and events in the sober world.
I also experienced sexual assault. I began moving into recovery from other addictions and trauma. I joined the twelve step fellowships. I deepened my meditation practice and began leading kirtans here in Bali. I started building my yoga shala and my life in Bali.
And slowly… I grew into a new version of myself. One that didn’t fully identify with every aspect of “Sober Yoga Girl” anymore.
But recently, I realized: this audiobook is just sitting on my hard drive right now.
and even if it can support just one person in becoming free from alcohol…
then it should be shared!
So this weekend, I pulled the recordings out of the vault and turned them into a podcast.
(I knew if I didn’t do it all in one go, then I’d fall behind and forget/stop - I actually tried a year ago to do this same thing and stopped about ten episodes in!)
You can listen to the full audiobook of Sober Yoga Girl for free until the end of April. Just search “Sober Yoga Girl: The Book” where ever you listen to podcasts. I hope it meets you exactly where you are.

I also want to remind you of two more free resources I’ve created to support your sober journey:

2) The Sober Yoga Girl Podcast (250+ episodes with guests in sobriety, yoga, and mental health that I started recording in 2021.)
Brene Brown said, “One day you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through, and it will be someone else's survival guide.”
If you are on the sober journey, it is my hope that by sharing my story of recovery, that it is in support of others on the same path. Ram Dass said, “We are all just walking each other home.”
I am rooting for you! You’ve got this.
A different life is possible.
